The Combat Service Identification Badge (CSIB), elegant simplicity is the hallmark of the unit—technically known as a Distinctive Unit Insignia—of the "Big Red One." The red and blue hemispheric borders are taken from the distinguishing flags of infantry divisions. In the middle stands Lady Victory with outstretched arms. It is the same figure found atop the 1st Infantry Division Monument in Washington, D.C., with the difference being that the statue features her carrying a flag.
As of Spring 2022, the 1st Infantry Division is based at Fort Riley, Kansas. Its components include the 1st and 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Teams (the “Devil” and “Dagger” Brigades, respectively), the 1st Combat Aviation Brigade (“Demons”), the 1st Infantry Division Artillery, and its HQ and HQ Battalion.
