"Guardians of the High Frontier" was the original motto of the Air Force Space Command (AFSPC) in 1983. It was adopted to reflect the command's mission to protect U.S. and allied interests in space. This historic motto was chosen to inspire the name of the modern-day "Guardians" of the U.S. Space Force.
