Lieutenant General Tony D. Bauernfeind is the current Superintendent of the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA), assuming office on August 2, 2024. A 1991 graduate, he is a 3-star general who leads the undergraduate academic, military, and athletic training for the cadet wing. He succeeded Lt. Gen. Richard Clark, who retired.
