The 308th Civil Affairs Brigade Distinctive Unit Insignia, also called a "unit crest" or just DUI, was first approved for the 308th Civil Affairs Group on 20 October 1971, but was redesignated (along with revised descriptions and symbolism) for the Brigade on 3 February 1993. Purple and white, official colors of the Civil Affairs branch, are used for the graphics of a globe (denoting the worldwide capabilities of the unit) and as scroll (an allusion to the civil and military law the unit upholds).

Gold is used for the globe’s gridlines, the upraised sword, and the scroll on which the unit motto is inscribed; it is the color of excellence and achievement. The scarlet used for the motto “Advise Organize Direct” is associated with courage and valor. The upraised sword is a symbol of the Brigade’s mission to maintain civil order, using martial means if necessary, and to support all phases of military operations.

The DUI is the picture is the one you will receive.
