The 96th Infantry Division, famously known as the "Deadeyes," was a distinguished U.S. Army unit renowned for its brutal combat operations in the Pacific Theater during World War II, particularly during the Leyte and Okinawa campaigns following World War II, the division served as an Army Reserve unit. In 1967, it was redesignated as the 96th Army Reserve Command and eventually evolved into the 96th Sustainment Brigade, which is headquartered at Fort Douglas in Salt Lake City, Utah.
