194th Maintenance Battalion Unit Crest (Forward With Support)
USCommonly referred to as a unit crest of a DUI, the Distinctive Unit Insignia of the 194th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion was originally approved for the 194th Maintenance Battalion on 26 July 1967. It was redesignated for the 194th Support Battalion, with updated symbolism, on 17 October 2006. It is not clear when the insignias was redesignated for the 194th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion.
A crimson background is used for the background of the center of the insignia to reflect the unit’s former status as a Maintenance unit. A crossed micrometer and a quill pen imply a support structure; the quill is also a symbol of the organization’s command and supervisory roles and the micrometer suggest technology and precision. A blue annulet around the crimson disc suggests a wheel and implies mobility and a continual delivery of services.
